What services do you offer?
RCI Partners recommends investments to RCI and provides flat-rate support for RCI holdings.
RCI Partners works closely with the management of associated companies.RCI is an investment company that brings together Business Angels.
The combination of these two companies offers comprehensive support for business development and seed investments to maximize project success.
We work both for start-ups and for investment funds (as an operating partner).
How do you evaluate investments?
We evaluate potential investment opportunities on the basis of innovation, market potential, team strength, identified value milestones and total investment required.
Our focus is on early-stage advanced technology and software companies, mainly based in France.
In this context, the most important criterion is that the founders should have a deep understanding of the target industry sector.Better still, the founders of the companies we support must have direct experience of the problem they are solving.
How do you get involved in the projects?
It all depends on the needs and wishes of the founders : some want their investors to be very involved, others not. We like to discuss this in advance and establish a mutual understanding before investing. More often than not, we are involved in 3 areas: People / Business / Financing. For example, helping to recruit people into key positions, contributing to the marketing strategy, assisting with non-dilutive financing and making presentations at all levels: potential customers, investors in the next financing round, external development partners, etc. More info Are there any "market verticals" that you avoid?
We are cautious about investing in highly regulated sectors. We do not invest in B2C. We do not invest in companies with capital-intensive business models and/or that require many years of development to bring a product to market.
What does your investment process look like?
One or more directors from our team will have an initial meeting with the founder(s). If there is mutual interest in moving forward, the next step is a meeting with our entire team. This allows us to align quickly on our vision of the opportunity and not waste our time or yours. From there, we move quickly and our due diligence process focuses on the market opportunity and interviews with customers (or future targets).
Specifically, we focus on your go-to-market strategy, your business model, your financing needs, and we want to talk to as many customers as possible.
We are convinced of the team, the business and the product. If the ambition is mutual, the principle of support for the duration of the investment is agreed, and the investment conditions are validated, we invest directly from the pre-seed/seed phase.
I'm a founder and I'd like to submit my project. How do I go about it?
contact(at)rci-partners.com and a member of our team will get back to you.
I'm an investor, business angel or family office, and I'd like to find out more about RCI. Who should I contact?
contact(at)rci-partners.com and a member of our team will get back to you.
What's it like working with you?
What you do and what we do is difficult. It's hard, because it's risky. In fact, it wouldn't be sustainable if we didn't also manage to create a "fun and serious" relationship throughout the project.
What we do know is that 50% of your assumptions, and ours, are wrong at the start of every business creation journey. We see our added value mainly in helping you (and us) to quickly determine which 50% it is... then finding a solution and trying to find the "fun" along the business journey.
